For Physicians: General Information

Aneuploidy Screening is helpful for the following types of patients:

• Women over 35
• Couples who have experienced several miscarriages
• Couples who have had a prior pregnancy with a chromosome abnormality.
• Couples who have experienced several failed IVF cycles.
• Couples who are using IVF due to low sperm count or associated with nonsurgical sperm aspiration (NSA) or testicular sperm extraction (TESE)

PGD for structural chromosome rearrangements is helpful for patients who have:

• Reciprocal translocation
• Robertsonian translocation
• Inversion or deletion

PGD for genetic diseases is useful for patients with a family history of:

• Huntington disease (HD)
• Cystic fibrosis (CF)
• Sickle cell disease
• Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)

PGD for gender selection is useful for patients:

• Who carry X-linked disease
• Interested in gender selection
